Halifax, November 15, 2019 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gwen LeBlanc as Manager of Community Economic Development and Innovation Services. Gwen transitioned to her new position as manager on November 12.

Gwen LeBlanc is from Wedgeport, Nova Scotia and a graduate of Université Sainte-Anne. She started at CDÉNÉ in 2009, as a Community Economic Development Officer representing the Argyle region.

Throughout her career, Gwen has worked to provide Nova Scotia's Acadian communities with the tools necessary for economic diversification and growth, as well as job creation. She has created links between community stakeholders, delivered workshops, coordinated leveraged projects and promoted entrepreneurship and the cooperative approach among youth. She has also helped promote the tourism industry as an economic driver in her region and in all Acadian regions of Nova Scotia, notably through the creation of the VisitezNE.ca website.

"I am very grateful to continue to work in the community economic development sector within the CDÉNÉ and with a dynamic and resourceful team." she said. "I have a special affection for the Acadian communities of Nova Scotia, which have a lot to offer their members and the world."
