Back to the 18th Annual General Meeting of the CDÉNÉ

Halifax, June 9, 2017 - The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) held its 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 6 from the Université Sainte-Anne campus in Halifax. Each region attended the AGM by videoconference from the four other campuses of Université Sainte-Anne in Tusket, Petit-de-Grat, Saint-Joseph-du-Moine and Pointe-de-l'Église. This was an opportunity for the CDÉNÉ to take stock of the activities and achievements of the last year with its members.
During the meeting, CDÉNÉ presented its three-year action plan for 2017-2020, its annual report and adopted the changes to its statutes and regulations. Members of the Board of Directors (CA) for the coming year were also elected. Here is the composition:

Jean-Guy Bigeau, Executive Director of RDÉE Canada, took the floor to highlight the priorities of the network, in particular immigration and tourism. He said that, according to a study carried out by a firm of experts in socio-economic impact, the CDÉNÉ represents one of the biggest economic engines of the network. Nova Scotia is the third most productive province in terms of contributing to economic development, with estimated spin-offs of more than $ 8 million annually. Julie Oliver, Executive Director of the CDÉNÉ, thanked the partners and the donors, without whom the CDÉNÉ could not offer as much diversity in its activities and services to the Acadian and Francophone community.
