Amélie Jérôme, new Case Manager - Chéticamp.
Halifax, July 7th, 2022 – Having expanded their employment services offerings to include offices in Cape Breton, within the Nova Scotia Works network, The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Amélie Jérôme as the new Case Manager – Chéticamp. Her start date was March 21th, 2022.
As a Case Manager, Amélie's role is to provide employment assistance services to job seekers, such as job search, skills development and career exploration, in the Chéticamp area and surrounding communities. The employment services centre officially started providing services to the communities on May 2, 2022. The office is located at Université Sainte-Anne’s campus in Saint-Joseph-du-Moine (12521 Cabot Trail Road).
Originally from Quebec, Amélie has been living in Cape Breton for 4 years. Having pursued a first career in visual arts, she was drawn to the richness of the landscape around Chéticamp and enjoyed life in a rural community. Recently, she began studying social work and her job as a Case Manager complements this well.
She is aware of the economic realities of the region and is enthusiastically involved in supporting community members in their job search and career path, having experienced some of the challenges and detours herself.
