Sheila McEvoy, new Employer Engagement Specialist – Chéticamp (Inverness County)
Halifax, July 08, 2022 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheila McEvoy as Employment Engagement Specialist – Chéticamp (Inverness Country). Her start date was on April 4, 2022.
Her role within the CDÉNÉ’s Employment Services team, Nova Scotia Works, is to assist/guide employers in Inverness County with recruitment and retention of employees.
Sheila is Acadian and lives in the small village of Cheticamp. She is a Université Sainte-Anne graduate from the program Agente de bureau gouvernementale (Government Office Agent). She is a member of FFANE (Fédération des femmes acadienne de la Nouvelle Écosse). She is also a member of Allons-Y-ensemble, a non-profit organization that promotes and supports community projects that enhance the Acadian communities of Cape Breton. Her knowledge of the community and its members will be a wonderful asset.
Professionally, Sheila has worked for the Coopérative de transport de Chéticamp as the Coordinator of L'Acabie. She has also worked within the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial schools as a Teacher's Aide for over 12 years.
Sheila says "I am proud of my Acadian heritage and the community I live in, I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with employers in Inverness County to help them recruit and retain qualified and experienced candidates for their businesses”.
