Church Point (N.S.) - Thursday May 16th 2024 : The Congrès mondial acadien 2024, in collaboration with the Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) and Université Sainte-Anne are pleased to invite you to the Economic Forum, which take place from August 13 to 15, 2024, in Southwest Nova Scotia, in the regions of Digby and Clare. 

 The Economic Forum's theme will be "Sustainable development as a lever for economic prosperity in Acadie: local, national and international perspectives." Leading local business personalities will discuss sustainable economic development and present innovative practices put in place in Acadian regions in Canada and elsewehere to ensure prosperity. This forum is sponsored by Acadian Seaplants, an Acadian example of and world leader in sustainable development.

Tuesday, August 13: Digby Pines, Digby

  • Welcome and Registration
  • Reception: Economic Immigration and Sustainable Development

Wednesday, August 14: Digby Pines, Digby

Speaker series programming: 

  • Acadie and Agenda 2030
  • Towards Sustainable and Responsible Tourism
  • Marine Economy: Innovation and Productivity
  • Creativity and Innovation: Drivers for Growth for Rural Regions

Thursday, August 15: Louis-E-Deveau Entrepreneurship Centre, Université Sainte-Anne, Church Point

  • "Connector ": Networking and meeting event bringing together entrepreneurs, organizations form the innovation ecosystem and partners from the research sector

Registration Fees*:

General Registration: $230
Student Registration: Free (limited number of spots)
*Meals on the 14th and 15th are included in your registration 

Alongside this forum, we will be holding an art competition for students : What should our future look like? Let's imagine a better world together.
