Back from Destination Acadie in Morocco

Halifax, April 19, 2017 - From April 2 to 8, the Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) traveled to Morocco to participate in Destination Acadie, a forum on mobility in Atlantic Canada.
Our Executive Director, Julie Oliver, and our Economic Immigration Officer, Natalie Comeau, conducted several sessions in four Moroccan cities: Casablanca, Tangier, Rabat and Marrakech. They informed participants about Nova Scotia's job market and the opportunities it offers to French-speaking immigrants.
"We met a few hundred people who took the time to move and come to the session. Many of them had very interesting profiles to meet labor market needs in Nova Scotia and Acadia, particularly in skilled occupations. As a new recruit as an economic immigration officer, I had the opportunity to speak directly with individuals who were already clients of the CDÉNÉ with our pre-arrival services. These exchanges were very encouraging and promising, and thanks to the follow-up we are currently undertaking, we have a pool of high-quality candidates. "Says Natalie Comeau.
