DG CDENE et DG OceanJulie Oliver (Executive Director of the CDÉNÉ) and Jules Leblanc (President and owner of Ocean Pride) at the facilities in Saint Pierre where the first transformation of sea cucumber will take place.

The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) Executive Director was inaugurating a sea cucumber processing plant in St. Pierre and Miquelon last July.

Thanks to private investment, the Nouvelles Pêcheries building in Saint-Pierre will be operational again in the coming days after 8 years of inactivity. Nova Scotia Ocean Pride Fisheries, a CDÉNÉ client, also invested in the project. According to Jules LeBlanc, president of Ocean Pride, the goal is to double their supply of sea cucumber.

Julie Oliver, Executive Director of the CDÉNÉ said, "The signing of this agreement is a great success and the concrete result of four years of negotiations. "She also recalled that the CDÉNÉ supports businesses in the Francophone and Acadian regions of Nova Scotia to spread internationally through the organization of trade missions facilitating the development of partnerships between businesses in Acadian regions and international companies , and facilitating regional cooperation.
