Mariama Sene, new Employer Engagement Specialist
Halifax, October 21, 2020 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Mariama Sene as the new Employer Engagement Specialist. Her start date was October 19th, 2020. Her role on the Employment Services team at CDÉNÉ, Nova Scotia Works System, is to assist employers in the Clare and Argyle regions with employee recruitment and retention.
Mariama was born and raised in Senegal, more specifically in Dakar. In 2013, she came to Nova Scotia to study at Université Sainte-Anne in the Bachelor of Business Administration program and graduated in 2015. After her studies, she got married and became the mother of a little girl. She is currently enrolled in preparatory courses for the CPA. She has held various positions at the University including mini-camp counsellor and assistant director of residences. She then held a position as administrative assistant with the Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne française in Ottawa.
Mariama is passionate about reading, cooking, music and cinema. She enjoys team sports such as basketball and soccer. Since her arrival in Canada, she has been fascinated by nature. She expresses this new passion for nature by exploring and taking pictures of it.
