Patsy Hicks, new Employer Engagement Specialist
Halifax, January 6, 2022 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Pasty Hicks as the new Employer Engagement Specialist. Her start date was January 4th, 2022. Her role on the Employment Services team at CDÉNÉ, Nova Scotia Works System, is to assist employers in the Clare and Argyle regions with employee recruitment and retention.
Patsy was born and raised in Saulnierville, in the Francophone community of Clare, Nova Scotia. Patsy has long been involved in the Francophone community, including being a host for the Clare community radio station, Radio CIFA. She is a graduate of Université Sainte-Anne, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA), a Bachelor of Education (BEd), and a Master of Education (MEd).
Professionally, Patsy worked for Université Sainte-Anne for ten years as an internship officer. She also taught in public schools in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick for the previous three years. Her knowledge of the community and its members will be a wonderful asset.
"I am very excited to join the CDÉNÉ team" said Patsy. "I hope that my education, experience and knowledge of the francophone community in Nova Scotia will benefit CDÉNÉ. In addition, it is a great privilege to work with our various partners, to develop and elaborate our economic development plan and to create sustainable economic development in our community."
