communique 16e assemblee generale

Halifax, Nova Scotia – Friday, June 12, 2015
– The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) held its 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) live from the Halifax campus of Université Sainte-Anne. All regions were able to follow the AGM via videoconference at the four other campuses of Université Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia (Tusket, Petit-de-Grat, Saint-Joseph-du-Moine and Pointe-de-l’Église). The AGM was an opportunity for the CDÉNÉ to report to its members on its activities and successes over the past year.

The Annual General Meeting was also a good opportunity for the CDÉNÉ to present its action plan for the current year, 2015-2016.

The Executive for the coming year will be made up of Charles Gaudet, president; Ronnie LeBlanc, vice-president and Georgina Aucoin, secretary-treasurer. The other serving members of the Board of Directors are continuing their terms. They are Rod Samson, Allister W. Surette, Caroline Thériault, Claude Patrice Poirier, Alfred Arthur Poirier, Kim L. d’Entremont, Aldric d’Entremont and Clément Benoît.

Julie Oliver, Executive Director of the CDÉNÉ, thanked the partners and funding agencies without whom the CDÉNÉ could not offer so many diverse activities and services to the Acadian and Francophone community. On behalf of herself and Charles Gaudet, she also thanked the members of the team and the Board of Directors for their support and dedication towards the organization’s work and objectives.

The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the economic welfare and quality of life of Acadians and Francophones in Nova Scotia.
