communique concours femmeacadienne

Halifax, March 8, 2016
– To mark International Women’s Day, the Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) invites Nova Scotians to participate in a contest to highlight Acadian and Francophone women and their contributions to community life and the business world. Community members are encouraged to nominate an Acadian or Francophone woman who has inspired them or guided their career.

Nominations can be submitted on Facebook or Twitter or by email to the following addresses:
Facebook: facebook.com/leCDENE
Twitter: @leCDENE
Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Submissions must include:
  • The woman’s name;
  • A few sentences to explain how this woman inspired you in your career and her impact on your professional development;
  • The hashtag #femmeacadienne if you’re posting on Facebook or Twitter;
  • If possible, a photo of the woman.

“What better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than by taking time to recognize women who have made important contributions in their communities and their work?” said Charles Gaudet, CDÉNÉ president.

At the end of March 2016, the CDÉNÉ will choose a winning entry and profile this woman on its website to celebrate her contribution. The winner and her nominator will both receive a gift certificate for a local business in their community. The deadline for nominations is March 31.
