Sandrine Mounier, new Economic Immigration Officer
Halifax, December 8, 2021 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Sandrine Mounier as the new Economic Immigration Officer. Her start date was December 7th, 2021.
Sandrine was born and raised in Perigord, a region of France. She has always enjoyed learning about people and cultures. In 2014, she immigrated to Canada to pursue a PhD in Urban Studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal. As a research officer, she participates in several projects exploring intercultural relations in neighborhood life, as well as immigration and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies. She also took the opportunity to get involved in the French Canadian community for which she developed a sense of belonging. In 2020, she decided to move to Halifax, in part because of the historic Acadian and Francophone presence in Atlantic Canada.
"I am delighted to join the CDÉNÉ team to participate in the economic development of Nova Scotia's Acadian and Francophone communities," she said. "I am also looking forward to working with immigrants in their life projects here, as well as in meeting the needs of businesses. I hope that my expertise in the field of immigration policy and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will benefit everyone. "
