Born in Senegal, Issam studied at the University of the Sahel (Dakar, Senegal) where he obtained a degree in Economics and Management. He then continued his studies at Université Sainte-Anne where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.A.A.). Professionally, his combined management, economic and community experience will be an asset to his position as a project development officer. -
Diariata Dieng, new Manager of Community Economic Development and Innovation Services
Read moreHalifax, May 8, 2019 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the hiring of Diariata Dieng as Manager of Community Economic Development and Innovation Services. Her start date was April 29th.
Born in Nouakchott, Mauritania, Diariata studied in Grenoble, France, at Pierre Mendes France University. She obtained two Masters degrees: the first in Territorial Development Project Management and the second in International Economics and Globalization. -
Daniel Carrier, new Business Advisor for the Argyle region
Read moreHalifax, April 8, 2019 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to announce the addition of Daniel Carrier to its Business and Entrepreneurship Services team. He assumed the position of Business Advisor for the Argyle region on April 8.
Originally from Edmundston, New Brunswick, Daniel studied at the Université de Moncton before venturing into the labour market in New Brunswick and Western Canada. His experience in the fields of management, accounting and project supervision will be an asset for his new position. His work experience has also led him to develop a passion for financial management, project development, and strategic partnerships. -

Halifax, March 25, 2019 – On March 5, 2019, the Groupe d’Accueil Communautaire pour les nouveaux arrivants à Argyle (Newcomer Community Welcoming Group in Argyle), in collaboration with the Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) and the Western Regional Enterprise Network (WREN), had organized a "Bilingual Meet & Greet" in Tusket at Anchored Grounds! The organizers would like to warmly thank the participants for coming to this first “Bilingual Meet & Greet”. The high level of attendance for this event demonstrates a real desire from the community and the newcomers to meet with each other and make the Southwest Nova Scotia a more welcoming and open place. -

Read moreHalifax, November 14, 2018 – This third reception for Acadian and Francophone municipal councillors organized by le Conseil du développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) took place during the annual conference of the Federation of Nova Scotia Municipalities in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Municipal Affairs. This evening was an opportunity for participants to network in French and explore potential collaborative opportunities while sharing their knowledge and expertise.
Dignitaries present were Honourable Chuck Porter, Minister of Municipal Affairs, and Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Acadian Affairs and Francophonie, and Minister of Immigration for Nova Scotia. Minister Lena Diab was accompanied by the Executive Director of Acadian Affairs and Francophonie, Mr. Mark Bannerman.

Sébastien Ducourtieux, new Communications and Marketing Officer, CDÉNÉ
Read moreHalifax, november 2, 2018 – The Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to welcome Sébastien Ducourtieux, newly appointed as Communications and Marketing Officer. He started work on October 29 in Halifax.
Native from France, Sébastien holds a Master's degree in Political Sciences from the University Toulouse I, in France. Passionate about graphic arts since his childhood, he naturally turned to graphic design after university studies. He worked as a graphic designer and webmaster in a French musical instruments company for 7 years. Then, he founded his own graphic design studio in France in 2014, an activity he led until his arrival in Canada in August 2018. -
Benoit Seveno, new Communications and Marketing Officer, CDÉNÉ
Read moreLe Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse (CDÉNÉ) is pleased to welcome Benoit Seveno, newly appointed as Communications and Marketing Officer. He took office on April 18 in Halifax.
Native from France, Benoit holds a Master's degree in Marketing, Communication et Culture de from the University of Lille, in France. His many professional experiences in France and Canada have enabled him to be in charge of membership for a not-for-profit organization in Montréal (Qc), to manage the economic development for the Town of Truro (Ns) as well as supervising communications for the French Association of Renewable Energy in Paris, France. He also taught Business and management at the NSCC Campus in Truro, NS.
